Bright Bugs Maths Learning

We are learning to join two groups together and find out how many there are 'altogether'. We made two groups with our teddies and then had to make up a little story problem and work out how many teddies there were altogether. We are pretty clever I think!

Discovering together and having fun!

How did we show kotahitanga in Discovery Time? Did we follow our Discovery Time rules? Were we being good friends to each other and showing teamwork? Were we looking after the gear? Did we all help to pack up? I wonder if we remembered the 4-6 children at an activity rule? Jacob:I let Benjamin come in and join in with the trains. Caleb: I helped to put the things away. William: I dressed up like a pirate. Toby: I played with the trains. Matty: Benjamin and I played with the hula hoops. Lizzy: I played with the food with William. I was giving William a knife - I was sharing.

Discovery Time with the Bright Bugs and Busy Bees!

We have been very lucky over the past 2 weeks sharing our Discovery Time with the Busy Bees in Room 3. They are great friends to us. They have been helping us settle into school and have been keeping an eye on us to check we feel safe and happy! They have also been doing some amazing role modelling for our new learning. We have had such a fun time together during Discovery Time: building, creating, imagining, problem solving, working alongside each other as a 'team', sharing fun and laughter and generally having a fabulous time. We are showing the Term One Value - Kotahitanga - Getting along together. Watch our fantastic video!

Pyjama Day and the Bright Bugs

We had an amazing day on Friday dressing up in our pyjamas and raising money for Kids Can. It is lovely to welcome William to the Bright Bugs - our fourth class member! Wahoo!
