Super Hero Assembly Day
Wow Bright Bugs. You looked amazing at assembly today! For many of you this was your first time getting up on the big stage in front of a very big audience! Some of you even read your fabulous stories and you all showed your art and sung our special finger counting maths song. You made me feel very proud of you and I know your parents, grandparents and friends who came to watch you at our Super Hero Assembly are feeling incredibly proud too. Tino pai rawa!
Learning about Cambodia
William's Dad, Ravouth, came in and talked to the Bright Bugs about Cambodia. We had a great time. You can see Charlotte and Jodeci and Toby all dressed up in traditional Cambodian clothing. Charlotte and Jodeci are wearing the 'special occasion' clothes and Toby is wearing the everyday clothing, usually worn by older men. The children learnt some Cambodian dancing and also tried some very delicious Cambodian rice balls. A big thank you to Ravouth and William for coming and sharing some things about their family story.
Kaliyah's special visit...
Kaliyah had a special visit from a friend who drives a Fire Truck! Lucky Kaliyah! Check out the photos. I wonder if Kaliyah sung the Fire Truck song?

What's Your Story? Dolls, Doll's, Dolls!
On Thursday Sandi shared her very special doll collection with us. The dolls came from different countries all around the world. Each time her dad travelled away from home he would return with a special doll for Sandi to treasure. I'm sure he had some wonderful stories to tell as well. It was interesting looking at the different 'traditional dress' that helped identify each country. Have a look and see if you can remember the name of some of the countries that these dolls came from!

RSS Games
What a fabulous day we had. It was so lovely to see all the children having a 'good try' at something new and enjoying themselves throughout the activities. There was a great show of mana motuhake (self-awareness) and team work. Tino pai rawa!
Ana took some amazing photos during the RSS Games Day. Check these out!
